The 2018 Malanser Pinot Noir Fidler displays an already super clear and shining cherry color. Based entirely on Swiss Pinot clones that were planted 39 years ago on stony soil, the bouquet shows clear, pure, refined and elegant yet still reductive Pinot fruit with burnt rubber notes as well as floral, cherry and cassis aromas intertwined with crystalline and spicy terroir notes of crushed stones that give precision, freshness and complexity. Silky, round and refined on the palate, this is an elegant, pure, crystalline and refreshingly mineral Pinot with a long and intense, even powerful finish with tart cherry and berry flavors. Very precise, linear and fresh, with still young but refreshing tannins. Still slightly astringent. 92-93/100 (02.2020)
