Dusty and salty mineral notes characterize this interesting expression of Nebbiolo, derived from the sandy soils for which this vineyard site is known. Specifically, the fruit for the 2016 Barbaresco Gallina comes from 1.9 hectares of southern-facing terrain that is leased from the local church. They harvested this vintage a bit earlier than their peers in order to gain in elegance as well as those distinctive mineral tones.
