Hard candy, lavender, plums and cassis meld into more exotic white pepper and orange rind overtones. Translucent and regal in the glass, the 2010 is all about finesse. At the same time, there is plenty of acidity and tannin lurking in the background, both of which ensure the 2010 will drink beautifully for years to come. The 2010 Barolo Bricco Pernice is a fabulous and exuberant expression with dark lines and the proverbial big bones. You get structure, power and long aging potential wrap into one beautiful package. Fruit is sourced from a two-hectare vineyard that represent one of this estate's most historic and celebrated crus. The intensity and vigor of the wine is impeccable and it finishes with well-managed tannins and long flavors of dark fruit, Morello cherry and spice. This wine needs to flesh out further.
